After the early hiccup of Noor Ali Zadran, Shahzad started off on a positive note. He came out all guns blazing but threw his wicket away playing a rash shot. Javed Ahmadi and Rahmat Shah steadied the innings with a 53-run stand for the third wicket. Once Ahmadi and captain Stanikzai departed in quick succession, the play was halted due to rain. However, it turned out to be a much needed break for Afghanistan. Najibullah Zadran and Rahmat Shah started upping the ante. Rahmat slammed a brilliant hundered while Najibullah struck a quickfire fifty. They provided the much needed impetus before the rain returned and eventually the play was called off. As for Scotland bowlers are concerned, Wheal and Sharif were the pick of the bowlers. That's all we have from this time. Do join us for the second ODI which starts on Wednesday.
